And on this farm we had a goat...

At the beginning of this week, Chad got a goat from someone for the kids. Now mind you, we have just under an acre of land but Chad and the kids envision it as a mini-farm. The first day the goat was very nervous and as skittish with the kids as they were of it. The next few days the kids were with the goat non-stop, feeding it by hand, watering it, petting it, & brushing it. Now the goat bleats every time they leave her. She has escaped already 4 times and Chad is busy building a fenced-in area for it. By a majority vote the name is ....drum roll...."Ginger".

Since Logan was the only dissenting vote Chad let him name the snake, who now goes by "Black Thunder Wall-E". Yes, we now have a snake. Chad found the black rat snake in a tree going after some birds. It is good sized, about 2 feet long. We also have a turtle Chad and Logan rescued off the road, named "Indiana Jones". This all in addition to "Ebony" our cat, and "Daisy" the dog, and oh ya--two frogs we have found and kept (always a temporary arrangement). Chad is probably also going to raise mice for the snake. Chad also has ambitions of turning the shed (in the background in the picture) into a chicken coop...so the kids can have chickens to raise and eggs to gather. In reality I guess we do have a little farm going on (the FUNNY FARM), and daily it is a ZOO!!
